Snaptrip says

Ravenscroft is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its spaciousness, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable bedrooms with ensuites. Its location is ideal, nestled between Windermere and Bowness, offering easy access to local attractions. Guests appreciate the warmth of the house, even in colder months, and the suitability for families and pets, despite some concerns about garden security.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The majority of guests found Ravenscroft to be very clean, with spotless kitchen appliances and comfortable living spaces. However, a few guests mentioned issues with dust, dog hairs, and a specific instance of an unclean grill pan, which slightly affected the overall impression of cleanliness.

The cottage's location is highly praised for being conveniently situated between Windermere and Bowness, with easy access to both towns and local attractions. The proximity to a main road was not seen as a significant issue, as traffic noise was minimal.

Guests consistently report that the property is comfortable, with special mentions of the cosy beds and spacious rooms. The house is described as warm and snug, although one review noted that the lounge could be warmer and another mentioned a bedroom blind that let in too much light.

Facilities at Ravenscroft are generally well-regarded, especially the kitchen. However, some guests noted areas for improvement such as the need for additional vegetable knives, a tumble dryer, and updates to certain amenities. The mention of a tricky shower and the absence of a BBQ also suggest room for enhancement.

While many reviews comment on the well-equipped nature of the property and the helpful instructions provided, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate a level of thoughtfulness towards guests. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Although we were near a main road ,there was little traffic noise. Some areas of property needed revamping and cleaning. Beds comfortable. We were frightened to close the curtains as they were too heavy for the rails ,and on our arrival found they had fallen down in one of the bedrooms, but after reporting this, the maintenance men came pretty quickly, but we thought this should have been addressed BEFORE our arrival There are notices ALL over the property requesting visitors to be quiet, due to neighbours having children, and having to to get up for work, with a special notice stating equipment has been installed to monitor the noise level, so it felt like Big Brother watching. Our party consisted of 4 ladies all over 65 and we felt quite intimidated by this ,as we have never experienced this in all the time we have rented accommodation If there is a family or large party thinking of renting we feel they should be made aware of this as it is not stated in the property write up.

Great property, ideally located. Well equipped and spacious. Modern kitchen, very large living room. --------------------------------------------------------- Please feedback below points to owner but do not publish My constructive feedback to further improve or enhance a stay for consideration by the owner would be:- -Decoration is looking a bit tired and with the high ceilings and lights, cobwebs and dust are present. Basically a good top down clean needed. - sort out the wood chip and plaster coming down off ceiling in second double bedroom ensuite shower room. Can't understand how an owner would want it left like that. - the main light cluster in above ensuite doesn't work. It occasionally flickered when the room fan was switched off so clearly a wiring defect. - update the property info folder. The key location to the dining room cupboard should be clearer! After much searching found the requested highchair hidden in there. - although listed as being available, there was no sun umbrella to be found. Would have been much appreciated given the hot sun we had and eating outside. - side access overgrown from unkept hedge, although was trimmed back and grass cut whilst we were there. - appreciated the labels with basic instructions on how to use the appliances, one required for the microwave as impossible to fathom out! - it's the only holiday property we have stayed in where no welcome pack is provided. - some heavy doors need holding open, but the wedge doorstops have deteriorated and don't work as they should.

There was plenty of space, the kitchen was very well equipped to a high standard and we loved the fact that all the bedrooms were en-suite. Beds comfy and showers powerful. Ideal location for both Windermere and Bowness. Would definitely return.
